We come to the conclusion of another fulfilling yet challenging year.
The PWS Advisory Team has embraced these challenges head-on, navigating a continually evolving regulatory landscape while undergoing their own personal development.
The team has remained steadfast in our commitment to delivering the services required to meet our clients’ needs. I would personally like to extend my gratitude for your ongoing support over the past 12 months.
As we step into the new year, we have the opportunity to achieve our goals while also contending with the headwinds that remain. The PWS Advisory Team is here to assist and provide guidance as needed.
Our focus will continue to align with the vision of PWS Advisory improving the personal well-being of our clients, associates, and the wider PWS Advisory community.
I would like to take a moment to reflect on our client experiences over the past 12 months, particularly on the matters that were important to them.
Themes of financial prosperity and peace of mind—centred on securing family wealth and financial security have been top priorities for our clients.
Looking ahead, we will continue to concentrate on areas that directly impact our clients’ families, with a particular focus on:
- Transfer of Family Wealth
- Transition to Retirement
It is our goal, and my personal objective, that every client family has a fully considered and relevant Family Succession Strategy in place.
A Family Succession Strategy is more than simply having a will. It encompasses the smooth transition of assets during your lifetime and after death, while ensuring that your family’s values and objectives are preserved throughout the process. This strategy addresses concerns such as:
- Protecting and securing assets.
- Ensuring sufficient retirement income.
- Guaranteeing assets pass to intended beneficiaries.
- Maximizing tax efficiency.
Each family has unique circumstances, often centred around one or more of the following:
- Retaining wealth within the immediate family (bloodline).
- Providing for children’s education, property acquisition, and general living costs.
For clients in retirement, peace of mind regarding the certainty and security of their income remains a priority.
In some cases, there may be conflicting objectives, particularly between the retirement needs of parents and the financial position of adult children. Additionally, several barriers may hinder the development of a Family Succession Strategy, including:
- Family law and potential relationship breakdowns.
- An aging population, with increasing cases of incapacity and dementia.
- Changing laws and regulations.
- Insufficient assets or the type of assets held.
- The lack of proactive planning.
At PWS Advisory Group, we bring the experience, empathy, and understanding needed to help you develop your Family Succession Strategy. In partnership with trusted associates, we provide both the strategy and the necessary documentation for its implementation.
A well-considered Family Succession Strategy ensures peace of mind, knowing that your family has clarity about the path ahead, addressing your needs and desires while safeguarding against the unknown.
In the upcoming year, we remain committed to improving the personal well-being of our clients, our team, associates, and the broader PWS Advisory community.
We look forward to the opportunity to discuss your Family Succession Strategy with you. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or to discuss your personal requirements.
Yours sincerely,
Steven Skoglund
