Assistant to the Managing Director

With the ever changing and dynamic environment of the finance industry we are currently seeking to employ an experienced Assistant to the Managing Director to join our friendly team in our Melbourne office.

The Role

As the Assistant to the Managing Director, you will provide high-level administrative support and assist directly in delivering quality personalised service to our clients. The role will also entail general administration tasks for the office.

You will be required to:

  • Managing diaries, including scheduling meetings (internal and external) and providing the support documentation
  • Prepares and reviews of documentation (e.g., memos, engagement letter) including formatting, and proofreading.
  • Organising seminars, training, conferences, etc.
  • Booking and arranging travel and accommodation
  • Assist in the implementation of administration and client tasks
  • Act as the first point of contact dealing with correspondences and phone calls
  • Provide general administrative tasks for the Melbourne office
  • Other duties as directed by the Managing Director

About You 

To be successful in this role, you will be a dedicated professional with strong interpersonal skills that allow you to communicate effectively with a variety of people. You have a strong analytical skill and demonstrate initiative.

You will display a high degree of problem-solving ability, problem prevention, and have the confidence to step in and assist without being asked.

Advanced computer skills and proficiency in all aspects of the Microsoft Office suite are essential.

The Role

As the Advisory Administrator you will provide high-level administrative support and assist directly in delivering quality personalised service to our clients. The role will also entail corporate services tasks.

You will be required to:

  • Maintain the Client database on MYOB and the Client Portal.
  • Attend to ATO & Tax Administration management, including lodgement, registration and general enquiries.
  • Prepare and review client correspondence and advise memorandum.
  • Provide corporate services in CAS360.

About You

You have a strong work ethic and are driven to effectively and efficiently complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.

Bookkeeper

With the ever changing and dynamic environment of the finance industry we are currently seeking to employ a Bookkeeper to join our friendly team in either our Geelong or Melbourne office.

The Role

The role will include:

  • Working with a range of clients and industries;
  • Working with various cloud-based accounting packages including Xero, QuickBooks, and MYOB;
  • Preparation of payroll, BAS & IAS liaising directly with client and supported by our Advisory team;
  • Assist in preparing financial information and reports for Accountants, on a monthly and quarterly basis;
  • Month-end and year-end processing, reconciliations, and data allocation reviews; and
  • Involvement in team communications and training meetings.

About You 

To be successful in this role, you will enter the business with a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in bookkeeping. Experience working in an accounting firm will be a distinct advantage.

As a key member of the team, you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Strong working knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks, and MYOB;
  • Ability to multi-task and problem-solve;
  • Team player, self-motivated, reliable and trustworthy;

Tax and Accounting Compliance Manager

With the ever changing and dynamic environment of the finance industry we are currently seeking to employ an experienced Tax and Accounting Compliance Manager to join our growing team in our Melbourne office.

The Role

As the Tax and Accounting Compliance Manager you will lead a team in managing and delivering the Accounting and Taxation compliance function of the PWS Client engagements, to the Advisors in accordance with budgets, deadlines and firm targets.

You will collaborate and work together with our Advisors to assist with the workflow coordination of the team. Furthermore, you will be instrumental in developing and mentoring the team and will assist with the development of systems, processes and procedures that deliver consistent quality reporting to stakeholders.

About You 

To be successful in this role it is essential that you are CA/CPA qualified with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in public practice accounting.

You are a dedicated professional who is passionate about utilising your experience in taxation and accounting to achieve timely and quality service delivery of the team.

You are an excellent communicator with superb interpersonal skills that allow you to communicate effectively with a variety of people and to manage and develop a team. Your empathy and sense of other people’s feelings, coupled with your organisation skills, allows you to be flexible and best determine how to work together with the team to ensure they achieve their goals and objectives.

You have strong analytical skills and demonstrate initiative whilst being extremely responsible and organised with outstanding time management.

As an activator you make things happen by turning your thoughts into action and you have the ability to adapt to changing priorities whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

You will have experience with common cloud-based accounting SME software e.g., MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks, etc, and an appreciation of the importance of utilising accounting SME cloud-based software for the preparation of financial statements and Income Tax Returns utilising a single ledger.

Experience with MYOB AE practice management software or similar would be highly regarded.
